Project: | Groundwater Investigation and development for construction of road on the Nata – Kazungula road |
Scope of Work: |
The primary objective of the project was to carry out geophysical survey and siting of 8 boreholes along the Nata– Kazungula road for road construction water requirements. Specific project activities involved desktop study, hydrocensus and reconnaissance survey, geophysical survey and reporting. Geophysical survey included aeromagnetic data interpretation for delineation of target areas within the radius of 1km from the road alignment, ground geophysics using TEM, and magnetic profiling. The project area is within Wildlife Management Area and therefore posed a serious risk to the staff deployed. |

Project: | Consultancy Services To Undertake Desktop Groundwater Study and Pilot Drilling for Discovery Metals Limited, Botswana |
Scope of Work: |
The aim of the project was to develop an understanding of the potential of the local aquifers in terms of sustaining the water supply for mining and ore processing operations for the proposed mine. It also sought to provide recommendations for further groundwater exploration, drilling and pump testing for development of a wellfield for the proposed new mine situated close to Toteng Village in the North West district. The desk top study and pilot drilling tasks included the following

Project: | Bokspits, TGLP - Geophysical Borehole Logging |
Scope of Work: |
The Bokspits area groundwater potential survey project was initiated by the Department of Geological Survey, Botswana to assess the groundwater potential of the region covering an area of approximately 7435 km2 and to identify areas with suitable groundwater resources for livestock and domestic use. Drilling and geophysical logging of exploration boreholes was one of the project tasks. Water Resources Consultants (WRC) was subcontracted to conduct borehole geophysical logging of exploration boreholes with the specific objectives of: interpretation of lithological boundaries, estimation of aquifer depths and thickness and for providing design (casing, screen intervals) for construction of boreholes. The project tasks included the following;

Project: | Matsheng Groundwater Development Project |
Scope of Work: |
Projected was aimed at locating and developing groundwater resources to meet the year 2023 domestic supply for four primary demand centres collectively known as Matsheng Villages (Hukuntsi, Tshane, Lehututu and Lokgwabe) and also other secondary demand centres located in the northern Kgalagadi District and central and southern Ghanzi District. The water demand by 2023 for both primary and secondary demand centres was estimated at 1655 m3/day (0.60 million cubic meters per day). Work included updating of demand forecasts, geophysical surveys (TDEM) and comprehensive resource assessment through drilling, test pumping, assessment of sustainable well field abstraction through numerical modelling, groundwater quality assessment, development of a new well field, recommendations for well field management and monitoring. |

Project: | Maun Groundwater Development Project: Phase 2 |
Scope of Work: |
The primary objective of the project was the construction of new well fields sufficient to supply the town of Maun (pop. 70,000) with drinking water through a project horizon of 2020. Specific project activities involved geophysical borehole siting, drilling supervision and test pumping of exploration and production boreholes in four exploration areas in environmentally sensitive environments. Additional activities included demand assessment, numerical modelling of well fields to assess sustainable yields under a variety of climatic/recharge conditions, design of comprehensive monitoring networks, completion of a collector well feasibility study and preparation of detailed well field operations and management programmes. |

Project: | Pilot Collector Well Study in the Okavango Delta (an additional study under the Maun Groundwater Development Project Phase 2) |
Scope of Work: |
Tasks undertaken included evaluation of various collector well technologies and potential for their use in the Okavango delta environment. Also carried out a detailed pilot collector well site characterisation thorough the installation of piezomters by hand augering, jetting and drilling, grain size analysis, slug and pump testing, water level monitoring and water quality sampling/analysis as well as numerical modelling. At the completion of the site characterisation a report containing the location and design of a pilot collector well together with detailed design and contract document were prepared. |
